FCC Fines Oregon Licensee For Filing Violations

The FCC today issued a Notice of Apparent Liability for Better Life Television for failing to file Children’s Television Programming Reports for three quarters for its KTVC Roseburg (DMA 139), KBLN Grants Pass (DMA 140) and K23EX-D Medford (DMA 140), all Oregon. The commission is fining Better Life $3,000.

They got off cheap–provided the FCC will ever collect it.

Was the FCC also kind enough to give them an option of being bumped down to a low power station instead of having to pay the fine?! That’s what they have done with all of the class a stations who have had violations…

    In this case, only the translator is a Class A. The other two stations are full power. But Better Life owns at least 16 LPTV stations and translators. Two of their translators are Class A the others are not.
