ASHEVILLE, N.C.(AP) — Officials in Buncombe County, N.C., have charged a man with first-degree murder in the deaths of a finalist on a TV cooking show, her husband and their unborn child.

Local media outlets report 34-year-old Robert Jason Owens is jailed without bond. He is also charged with breaking and entering, and larceny after breaking and entering. Online records don’t indicate whether Owens has an attorney.

The sheriff’s office said 45-year-old Joseph Codd and 38-year-old Cristie Schoen Codd and her unborn child were murdered. They had been reported missing by family members on Sunday.

A reference on the website for the TV show “Food Network Star” said Cristie Codd was a finalist in season eight. The Asheville Citizen-Times reported the couple worked together on the television show “Without a Trace.”
