Firstcom Music, Deutsche Grammophon Partner

FirstCom Music today announced a new partnership with Universal Music Group’s classical label Deutsche Grammophon. Launching this week with 30 albums, Deutsche Grammophon Production Music will feature cleared classical works from Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin, Debussy and others, compiled in what FirstCom calls “a media friendly format and easy to license for content producers and editors around the world.” Additional albums are scheduled for this year.

One of the world’s leading classical music labels, Deutsche Grammophon has been producing, marketing and distributing recorded music for over a century, and now for the first time the label’s catalogue, featuring legendary recordings by the greatest conductors and orchestras, will be easily available to music editors around the world.

Commenting on the new partnership, Ken Nelson, SVP-executive producer, FirstCom Music, said: “We are very pleased to have the opportunity to offer our clients the absolute best in recorded music from around the world. Our representation of Deutsche Grammophon Production Music is further confirmation of our commitment to the highest musical standards. This legendary classical music label will add even more depth and variety to our already extensive music libraries and allow us to deliver a source for music that is quite simply second to none.”

Anja Rittmoeller, VP catalogue development, Deutsche Grammophon, added: “We’re delighted to be partnering with our publishing colleagues on this unique venture, and to push the joys, virtues and benefits of our rich classical catalogue in a convenient and easy-to-understand way.”
