Fisher Launches

The new lifestyle website is aimed at 18-49ers on a variety of topics designed to complement Fisher’s The company plans to roll out more Pulp sites, with PortlandPulp slated for later this summer.

Fisher Communications on Thursday launched, a life and style website catering to the 18-49 demographic. Readers, Fisher said, “will be able to monitor the city’s pulse and gain insight into a wide variety of everyday life topics, including the newest restaurants and bars, upcoming events, the latest in technology, gadgets and gaming, personal and career development and reviews of the ‘Best Of’ the city.”

Seattle Pulp will feature content from a variety of local contributors including Rain City Super Hero Phoenix Jones, foodie fashionista Salty Seattle, career consultant Paul Anderson, Salty’s on Alki Beach Executive Chef Jeremy McLachlan and home improvement expert Tami Michaels.

“The rapid growth of social media as the new platform to share real-time information has given rise to a wave of citizen journalists, who are able to share their specific knowledge and passion with the local community,” said Randa Minkarah, Fisher’s SVP of revenue and business development. “Our new Pulp brand will bring together these well-known and popular experts under one website, making it easier for consumers to access the information, as well as providing advertisers the ability to target specific segments of interest.”

With a more urban, witty and fun voice, Seattle Pulp is aimed at enhancing and complementing Fisher’s Niche sections such as Nosh, Culture, 9 to 5, Dwell, Gadgets and Rides will provide a more targeted and results-oriented sale for advertisers, according to the company.

Seattle Pulp is the first website under Fisher Communications’ Pulp brand. The company expects to launch Portland Pulp later this summer. The launch of the Pulp brand is the most recent initiative under Fisher’s broadcast-to-broadband strategy, which seeks to leverage technological advancements to create compelling digital content that can be distributed across multiple platforms.
