Fisher Signs Sports Forecasting Deal

AccuScore's sports forecasting service is now featured on all Fisher stations and their Web sites. The stations are using it to deliver local game forecasts and injury and trade information while driving viewers to their Web sites for more in-depth local coverage, as well as information on national teams and games.

Fisher Communications Inc. announced Tuesday that it has signed an agreement with AccuScore, a leading sports forecasting service in sports analysis, games, players and stats and the forecasting service is now featured on all Fisher stations and their Web sites.

“AccuScore produces the industry’s most sustainable win percentages and detailed analysis for the NFL, MLB, NCAA football and basketball,” said Jason Manasse, CEO of AccuScore. “It forecasts the future of sports, just like the weather forecast predicts the weather. We are excited about working with Fisher stations and their Web sites over the next year, and believe this will be a great relationship to continue building.”

“The simulation models we have built for the various sports include player, team, and environmental conditions,” added Stephen Oh, AccuScore vice president of product and co-founder. “It’s like actually playing the game before it’s played, but instead of only playing the game once like other simulations out there, we play the game at least 10,000 times to get the most comprehensive picture of what will happen.”

“We expect this proven cross-platform product to add value for our online users and sponsors as it produces ‘sticky’ content — the kind that attracts and keeps users on the site, which is ideal for advertisers,” said Troy McGuire, vice president of Fisher Interactive Network. “On-air we will use AccuScore to deliver local game forecasts and injury and trade information while driving viewers to our Web sites for more in-depth local coverage, as well as information on national teams and games.”

AccuScore’s major partners include Yahoo! Sports, ESPN, CBS Sports, Sporting News and Versus Network.
