Fox Networks Ups BJ Elias TO SVP, Distribution

Fox Networks television executive Benjamin “BJ” Elias has been promoted to senior vice president, distribution. He will continue to report to Mike Biard, president, distribution, Fox Networks.

Elias, who joined Fox in 2010 and previously served as VP, distribution, advanced services for Fox Networks, is responsible for leading the division’s distribution of new media products and services, including authenticated video (TV Everywhere) via websites and mobile apps, over-the-top television, video-on-demand and interactive television.

Elias played a key role in expanding the distribution of Fox Networks’ industry-leading suite of TV Everywhere apps and websites, including Fox Now, FXNow, Fox Sports GO, Nat Geo TV and BTN2GO. According to Fox, he is a key driver in negotiations with major cable, satellite, and telco affiliates “and has emerged as a leader in working through increasingly complex issues with the television stations affiliated with Fox Broadcasting.”

Prior to joining Fox Networks in 2010, Elias was director of strategy and business development at A+E Networks. He has also held business development positions with Sezmi Corp., Yahoo and CBS.

Elias earned bachelor’s degrees in political science and journalism from Emory University and a master’s degree in communications management from the Annenberg School for Communication & Journalism at the University of Southern California.
