Fox O&Os Up Rios To VP Digital News Apps

Jose Rios will coordinate all digital news applications for FTS, including mobile applications, as well as working with the stations to develop news talent and identify social media opportunities.

Jose Rios has been promoted to vice president, digital news applications for Fox Television Stations (FTS). Reporting directly to Jack Abernethy, CEO, FTS, Rios assumes this position on June 1.

In this role, Rios will coordinate all digital news applications for FTS, including mobile applications. In addition, he will work with the stations to develop news talent and identify social media opportunities.

Rios joined FTS in 1992 as managing editor of KTTV Los Angeles and later that year became news director there. In 1995, he was promoted to VP-news director. Before joining KTTV, Rios was news director of KCBS Los Angeles. During his 13-year tenure there, Rios began as a news associate and held a variety of positions, including assignment editor and manager.

A graduate of Tufts University, Rios holds a Bachelor of Arts in English.
