Fox Taps Saccone To Head MundoFox

The former entertainment president of Fox International Channels, Emiliano Saccone, is named president of the new U.S. Hispanic broadcast TV network set to launch this fall.

Fox and Colombian broadcaster RCN on Tuesday named Emiliano Saccone to head their planned Spanish-language broadcast network.

Earlier this month, Fox announced that it had secured affiliates in 20 DMAs for its new MundoFox, representing over 40% of U.S. Hispanic households. It hopes to have 75% coverage by the time of its launch this fall.

Saccone joins the MundoFox from Fox International Channels, where he has worked for 13 years, most recently as president of entertainment and EVP of content.

Saccone started his career at U.S. Hispanic agency Casanova Pendrill in Los Angeles after earning a bachelor’s degree in film and television from UCLA in 1993. He also holds an MBA from UCLA’s Anderson School of Business.

“We are delighted to have Emiliano on board as the President of MundoFox,” said Hernan Lopez, president and CEO of FIC, who had been overseeing MundoFox during its development.

“Interest in MundoFox has been very high thus far and Emiliano, who has been involved in MundoFox since its conception, is already working full speed towards the launch.”
