Fred Lozano Retiring From KENS San Antonio

Veteran news anchor Fred Lozano announced his plans to retire from Belo-owned CBS affiliate KENS San Antonio, Texas (DMA 36). His last day with KENS will be June 29.

Lozano, co-anchor of KENS5 Eyewitness News This Morning, has been a fixture in local television news for more than three decades.

“Fred Lozano is one of the finest journalists I have experienced the pleasure of working with in television,” said KENS President-General Manager Robert McGann. “He has been the rock of stability on our morning news since 1997. I cannot thank Fred enough for his contributions to the success of KENS.”

Winner of multiple Emmy Awards and numerous other broadcast journalism honors, Lozano is a native of San Antonio and a graduate of Brackenridge High School.
