Gabriel Sotelo Joins KSTS As Sports Anchor

Telemundo affiliate KSTS San Francisco (DMA 6) has added Gabriel Sotelo as sports anchor for Noticiero Telemundo 48 at 6 and 11 p.m. and Telemundo Deportivo Edicion Gigantes.

Sotelo, whose first day on the air will be Aug. 18, will join co-anchors Blanca Garza and César Bayona, and weather anchor Gabriella Dellán.

Sotelo previously was the morning anchor for Despierta San Diego at Univision’s KBNT-CD San Diego. While in San Diego, he also worked as a reporter for En Contacto Con Los Chargers, a 30-minute program that provided exclusive interviews and behind-the-scenes coverage of the San Diego Chargers.

In 2010, Sotelo served as a Verizon correspondent for the FIFA World Cup in South Africa, and provided live coverage for Univision’s network programming.

A native of Tijuana, Mexico, Sotelo earned his bachelor’s degree in communications from the Universidad Autonoma de Baja California in Mexico.
