Gamba New Marketing SVP At NBC Stations

Veteran TV marketing exec Therese Gamba will help the stations created unique brand strategies and coordinate NBCUniversal promotional campaigns and marketing.

Therese A. Gamba today was named senior vice president of marketing for the NBC Owned Television Stations. Gamba will report to Valari Staab, president of the NBC Owned Stations, and serve as an in-house consultant to the company’s 10 stations as they “define and develop their unique brand strategies,” according to the company. She will also coordinate broader NBCUniversal promotional campaigns and marketing efforts on behalf of the division.

Gamba has nearly 20 years of TV industry experience, primarily in senior marketing and brand-building roles. Most recently, she was a consultant specializing in marketing and media strategy for a wide array of clients, including Warner Brothers Domestic Television Distribution. Before that, Gamba spent seven years at the ABC Owned Television Stations, including KABC Los Angeles as VP of programming, advertising and promotion, and KGO San Francisco as VP of programming and station marketing.

Gamba also worked at Viacom for four years, as VP of marketing for TNN (now Spike), where she was part of the team that rebranded and relaunched the channel, and VP of marketing of Worldvision Enterprises, where she led marketing efforts for all first-run and off-network programming.

Previously, she was at Columbia Tristar Television Distribution creating campaigns for both first-run and off-network shows. Gamba was also a marketing and advertising consultant for Frank N. Magid Associates, where she consulted for TV stations across the country. She began her career in the industry in her native San Francisco, working at radio and television stations.

Gamba holds a B.A. in communications and government from St. Mary’s College in California and a M.A. in radio and television from San Francisco State University
