George Smith In As Jon Kelley Leaves WFLD

Jon Kelley, anchor of Good Day Chicago on WFLD, announced Thursday that he is leaving the Fox O&O on Dec. 1. “I have decided it’s time for me to embark on a new adventure. I want to thank Fox 32 for supporting me in achieving this goal,” Kelley said.

The station is adding George Smith as Good Day Chicago anchor effective Oct. 12. He comes to the station from WOIO Cleveland, and had previously spent 10 years as a Chicago-based correspondent for ESPN.

Smith holds an M.S. in journalism from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism in New York. He received his Bachelor of Arts in English from Oberlin College.
