Gray Continues Local HD News Rollout with Ross

Since entering a long-term technology partnership with Ross Video in 2010, Gray Television has purchased 18 OverDrive automated production control systems, with more implementations planned in the future.

“I have had the pleasure of working directly with the Ross team since the beginning of our long-term agreement, and can honestly say the impact for Gray has been tremendous,” said Jim Ocon, Gray’s VP of technology. “Not only have our operating costs been reduced but everything from integration to ongoing support at the lab and in the field has been an example I hold other vendors to.”

Designed by Ross using the latest Java technologies and an IT-class client/server architecture, OverDrive extends the reach of the operator to include control of video servers, audio mixers, robotic cameras, multiple graphic channels and more. In newsroom applications, the unique LiveLink MOS connection to the newsroom control system (NRCS) provides a seamless production workflow from rundown creation to on-air playout.
