Greg Bilte Chosen As VP-GM Of KIRO Seattle

Cox Media Group moves him from GM of its Tulsa duopoly to succeed Jay O’Connor as head of its Seattle CBS affil.

Cox Media Group today named Greg Bilte as the new vice president and general manager of its CBS affiliate KIRO Seattle (DMA 14), effective Dec. 5. Bilte succeeds Jay O’Connor, who announced this summer that he is leaving the company.

Previously, Bilte was VP and GM for CMG’s Tulsa duopoly of KOKI (Fox) and KMYT (MNT) since March 2013.

Bilte is no stranger to Washington state. He began his broadcasting career in 1979 as a business development account executive for KXLY  Spokane, Wash., and later was an account executive with TeleRep.

His career also includes serving as national sales manager at KTTV in Los Angeles and general sales manager at both CMG’s previously-owned KTVU and KICU in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Bilte is a native of Northern Idaho and graduated from Eastern Washington University with a Bachelor of Arts in radio and television.
