Emerson Coleman, the top programming executive at Hearst-Argyle Television, is joining Stephen Davis, president, mobile and online media, Infospace Inc., as a co-chairperson of the National Association of Television Program Executives, it was announced this afternoon.
Coleman and Davis, who is serving his third year as NATPE co-chairperson, will oversee NATPE’s executive committee, which is responsible for the annual budget and advising the full board on all of the organization’s business.
“It’s a pleasure to welcome Emerson Coleman as NATPE co-chair and to have Steve Davis stay on for his third year through the 2007 Conference,” said NATPE President Rick Feldman. “I also extend my heartfelt thanks to John Weiser in appreciation of his dedication, vision and hard work as NATPE’s co-chair for the past two years.”
Departing Co-chair John Weiser is president, distribution, Sony Pictures Television.
Coleman, who began his career as a writer and filmmaker, served as senior producer for WBZ Boston and head of local programming at WJZ Baltimore. He joined Hearst-Arygle as director of broadcast operators for WBAL Baltimore.
Coleman is also an Emmy Award-winning producer, who has overseen international television projects in Italy, Switzerland, Spain, Brazil, India, China, Israel, Australia, West Africa and throughout the Caribbean.
