Hearst Buying WCWG Greensboro For $3.3M

It’s exercising an option to purchase Lockwood Broadcast Group’s CW affiliate that Hearst operates under a shared services agreement.

Hearst Television is buying CW affiliate WCWG Greensboro, N.C. (DMA 46), from Lockwood Broadcast Group (David Hanna, president). Hearst has been operating the station under a shared services agreement.

The contract on file at the FCC lists the purchase price as $3.3 million.

Lockwood also owns KAKE Wichita, Kan.; KTEN Sherman, Texas; WHDF Huntsville, Ala.; WSKY Norfolk, Va.; and WKNX Knoxville, Tenn.

Hearst Television owns 30 stations. Jordan Wertlieb is its president.
