Hearst Sets New NDs in Cincinnati, Louisville

Mike Neelly will lead news operations at WLWT Cincinnati and will be succeeded as news director of WLKY Louisville, Ky., by that station’s assistant ND, Andrea Stahlman.

Hearst Television today named Mike Neelly news director of its NBC affiliate WLWT Cincinnati (DMA 35). He succeeds Stacy Owen, who moved to KNBC Los Angeles.

Neelly will oversee the overall news operation of WLWT, WLWT.com and WLWT’s mobile applications. His appointment is effective Monday, Nov. 12. Neelly will be succeeded at WLKY by Andrea Stahlman, the station’s assistant news director for the past 12 years.

Neelly comes to WLWT from Hearst’s WLKY Louisville, Ky. (DMA 48), where he has been news director since 2000. Neelly started at WLKY in March 1997, when he was first hired as assistant news director.

Before joining WLKY, he was an executive producer at WBBH-WZVN Fort Myers, Fla., and WCSH Portland, Maine. He started his broadcast news career at WJTV Jackson, Miss.

Neelly is a graduate of the University of Mississippi and holds a B.A. in English.

Stahlman is a 1993 graduate of Notre Dame University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in business administration, marketing major.

BRAND CONNECTIONS

She began her career in broadcast at WLKY in December 1993 as weekend assignment editor. In 1994 she was promoted to weekend newscast producer, followed by stints as 11 p.m. news producer from 1995 to 1997 and executive producer from 1997 to 2000.
