Hearst TV Names Angela Betasso VP Of Sales

The former Belo sales executive will share oversight responsibilities for sales activities at the company’s 29 television stations along with Kathleen Keefe beginning early next year.

Angela Betasso, an executive with more than two decades of local-television advertising sales experience across the country, is joining Hearst Television Inc. as a vice president of sales.

Betasso, who comes to Hearst from Belo Corp. in Dallas, where she VP, sales, will be located at Hearst Television’s New York headquarters, where she will share oversight responsibilities for sales activities at the company’s 29 television stations along with Kathleen Keefe, also a Hearst Television VP of sales.

Betasso’s appointment is expected to be effective in early 2014.

Betasso has been Belo’s VP, sales since October 2010, with responsibility for that company’s collective revenue efforts across its 20 television stations.  A 12-year Belo veteran, Betasso previously was VP, sales for WFAA, Belo’s ABC affiliate in Dallas-Fort Worth, responsible for sales on all of WFAA’s platforms including television, Web, mobile and digital.

Before joining Belo, Betasso was local sales manager at KTXA Dallas.  Prior to that, she was VP-GM at Seltel, a media representation firm later acquired by Katz Communications, for whom she sold advertising in Dallas and Los Angeles, and managed the Detroit and Dallas offices.

Betasso holds a B.A. in communication and media studies, with high honors, from the University of Texas at Arlington.  She has been a frequent guest lecturer on sales and media studies at Texas universities.
