Honoring Tech Leader Wendy Aylsworth

Wendy Aylsworth, SVP of technology at Warner Bros. Technical Operations, on Tuesday received TVNewsCheck’s third annual Women in Technology Leadership Award at the NAB Show in Las Vegas.

TVNewsCheck’s third annual Women in Technology Leadership Award presentation and reception at the NAB Show on Tuesday honored Wendy Aylsworth, senior vice president of technology at Warner Bros. Technical Operations.

Aylsworth is known for her work overseeing creation of the first D-Cinema standards and the first woman to serve as president of the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers. Not only does she play a pivotal role in helping Warner Bros. navigate a sea of technological change, but she is also a leader in setting technical standards around the world.

The FCC’s Alison Neplokh, chief engineer of the commission’s Media Bureau, received TVNewsCheck‘s first Technology Women to Watch Award for her technical and legal expertise. The new award is presented to women engineers who show potential for making significant contributions to the advancement of their industry, the Women to Watch Awards will recognize women in TV, radio and online technology.

TVNewsCheck’s Women in Technology Leadership Award recognizes women who have contributed significantly toward advancing their industry technologically. It supports the National Association of Broadcasters Education Foundation’s Technology Apprenticeship Program, which places young engineers who are women or people of color in broadcast industry internships.
