Ian Rubin Joins WOIO As News Director

Raycom Media’s Cleveland duopoly WOIO (CBS) and WUAB (MNT) has appointed Ian Rubin joins news director. He joins the stations from WNEM Flint, Mich.

Rubin’s than 30 years of local news experience includes leading multiplatform coverage of big breaking stories like the Flint Water Crisis and a terror attack at Bishop International Airport.

He also successfully oversaw WNEM’s expansion of news on air, online and on mobile, the station’s transition to an “Asking Tough Questions” approach and numerous community projects to enhance the lives of viewers in the region.

Prior to Michigan, Rubin worked in news management in Ohio at the then-NBC/Fox duopoly in Dayton, the NBC affiliate in Boston and at cable outlets in the suburbs of New York City.

His first day at WOIO will be March 19.
