Image Entertainment Forms Syndication Division
Image Entertainment Inc. today formed a new division focusing on TV syndication and named Don Golden to head sales for the division. In this newly created position, Golden will report to Steve Saltman, SVP of worldwide television.
As part of the launch of the new division, Image Entertainment will offer a package of more than two dozen films with additional packages to be released on a regular basis. In addition to films, Image Entertainment said it is actively acquiring new and existing television series for syndication.
“Image Entertainment has a library of 3,200 titles and with the continuing industry expansion into television and online, our creating strong packages of films for the TV syndication market will allow Image to exploit its library in additional areas,” said John Hyde, vice chairman of Image Entertainment. “Don’s expertise and contacts provide Image with a strong launching point for this division.”
The first package being offered through Image Entertainment TV Syndication consists of 26 films, some of which will be made available as television premieres. They are a mixture of action, comedy and romance and feature a wide range of directors and actors including Ed Harris, Michael Caine, Jodie Foster, Michele Williams, Mickey Rourke, Megan Fox, , Tom Sizemore, Andy Garcia, Winona Ryder, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Laura Linney, Tim Roth and Selma Blair.
Golden brings over 25 years of experience to the Image Entertainment team. Most recently, he provided consulting services for content rights holders and producers for the licensing of films and television series to all media. His past includes executive positions with Carsey-Werner eDistribution, a division of Carsey-Werner Productions, MGM Domestic Television, a division of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios, Inc., Fries Entertainment and All American Television (now Fremantle).
