ivi TV Adds Chicago To Its Lineup

The "online cable system" has expanded its lineup of TV offerings to include Los Angeles stations in addition to those in New York, Los Angeles and Seattle.

ivi TV announced today that it has expanded its online TV service to include live station broadcasts from Chicago.

The markets now included in ivi TV’s offering are New York, Los Angeles, Chicago and Seattle.

The addition of 12 channels from the Chicago market brings the total number of OTA (over-the-air) channels available on ivi TV to 65, excluding international content including Spanish news and variety programming from Intereconomia Business TV, sports programming from Sport Italia, Orange Sport and English language news from China on CCTV9, among others. The basic “ivi Air” package contains all the major broadcast channels for $4.99/mo.

Trying out the free preview. Though the L.A. stations are redundant for me, the rest is pretty nice. The ivi player is a bit buggy on Windows (not much of a surprise there). It keeps going “not responding” and shutting down. Hey, it’s free for 30 days (then $5 a month afterwords), so why not give it a shot.
