Jennifer Montoya Betancourth Joins KRCA News

LBI Media’s Estrella TV flagship KRCA Los Angeles (DMA 2) has hired former Noticias Caracol anchor Jennifer Montoya Betancourth.

She will take over the anchor desk for the noon and 5 p.m. newscasts starting Monday, July 31.

She joins the station with more than 10 years of journalistic experience in her native Colombia where she anchored the national newscast Noticias Caracol.  he was also the lead anchor for Caracol’s daily noon newscast, weekend primetime news and Última Edición.

Additionally, she anchored two national political affairs shows, Análisis Mundial on the Cablenoticias Network, which she also created and directed, and Una Mirada al Mundo for Caracol Internacional.

Earlier in her journalism career,  Montoya Betancourth was the editor-in-chief of digital magazine Política Crítica and also worked at Blu Radio, a property of Caracol TV, as a Bogota correspondent.

She has a BA in communications and journalism from Universidad Católica Popular de Risaralda and two master’s degrees, one in political science from Universidad Complutense de Madrid and the other in business, institutional and journalistic communications from that same university.
