Jim Campagna Named WSYR News Director
Nexstar-owned ABC affiliate WSYR Syracuse, N.Y. (DMA 84) today named Jim Campagna as news director.
Campagna, who was most recently interim news director, was also executive producer of The Morning News for 15 years. He succeeds Phil Rankin who left the station in September.
WSYR also provides news and weather content for WIVT Binghamton (ABC), WBGH Binghamton (NBC), WWTI Watertown (ABC), WETM Elmira (NBC) and WROC Rochester (CBS).
Campagna started his broadcasting career at WHEN-AM Syracuse and worked his way up to news director. He also was an adjunct professor at Onondaga Community College. Campagna attended OCC then transferred to Oswego State University where he received his BA in broadcasting /mass communication.
