Joe Sciortino Named VP-GM Of KSLA
Joe Sciortino today was named vice president and general manager of KSLA, Raycom Media’s CBS affiliate in Shreveport, La. (DMA 83). He succeeds James Smith who yesterday announced his decision to retire.
Sciortino comes to Shreveport from Raycom’s WDAM Hattiesburg, Miss., where he was VP-GM.
Prior to that, he was general sales manager at KAIT Jonesboro, Ark., also a Raycom station.
“Joe has proven that he is a strong and enthusiastic leader at other Raycom Media stations,” said Sandy Breland, Raycom Media group vice president. “We are confident he will carry forward a legacy of excellence at KSLA.”
“I am honored to lead KSLA and to serve the community,” said Sciortino. “My family and I are looking forward to making the Ark-La-Tex our home.”
Sciortino is a native of Louisiana. He graduated from Loyola University and began his broadcasting career in New Orleans.
