John Hogan Joins WZZM Investigative Team

Gannett-owned ABC affiliate WZZM Grand Rapids, Mich. (DMA 39) has hired John Hogan as part of its Watchdog Investigative Team. The Watchdog Team is headed by Lee Van Ameyde who has been a reporter and anchor at WZZM for more than 36 years.

“John and Lee will be advocates for the people of West Michigan,” said Janet Mason, WZZM –president-GM. “They will be uncovering and bringing to life stories that benefit the communities we serve.”

For 24 years, Hogan worked at the Grand Rapids Press as assistant business editor, night editor and assistant metro editor managing a team of reporters. He has been a regular contributor of articles for the paper’s Home and Garden and Business sections. He has also written numerous online stories and created photo galleries for various media in West Michigan.

Hogan has won numerous journalism awards, including several from the Associated Press, an Advancement of Justice Award from the State Bar Association of Michigan, the Michigan Corrections Officers Association, and the Garden Writers Association.

Hogan is a graduate of Michigan State University.
