John Vilade Joins One World Sports As Ad EVP

Global sports cable network ONE World Sports has hired John Vilade as executive vice president, advertising sales.

With more than 20 years of successful media advertising sales, distribution sales and business development experience, Vilade joins ONE World Sports from CBS, where he was VP, national digital ad sales for CBS Local Digital Media.  Vilade will be working from ONE World Sports’ New York office.

“John brings both the linear and on-demand, digital premium video sales experience essential to a millennials-focused network like ours,” said Alexander “Sandy” Brown, ONE World Sports president-CEO. “Younger sports fans are increasingly multicultural and increasingly platform-agnostic. At the same time, sports remain the best way to attract viewers of all ages to watch ‘TV’ live or to consume content on any device. John is the type of executive who knows how to capitalize on that opportunity for clients.”

Before CBS, Vilade was EVP, national ad sales, for Inform, formerly NDN, a provider of personalized content delivery and performance-based monetization to mobile and desktop advertisers and publishers.

Prior to Inform, Vilade was VP, national advertising sales, East and Central regions for Hulu, and, before that, he was VP, national advertising sales for Discovery Communications.

He served for more than 10 years collectively within various units within NBC, most recently as VP, national ad sales for NBC’s Strategic Partnership Group.

BRAND CONNECTIONS

Vilade holds both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in communication studies from Baylor University.
