The general sales manager of the Raycom NBC affiliate in Louisiana will take over the station's top management spot upon the retirement of Jim Serra at the end of June.

John Ware Named GM Of KPLC Lake Charles
John Ware has been named vice president and general manager of KPLC, Raycom Media’s NBC affiliate in Lake Charles, La. (DMA 174), beginning June 30.
Ware began his career in broadcasting more than 30 years ago at a station in Lafayette, La., where he started in operations. He worked his way up to production manager, and then moved on to KPLC.
His tenure at KPLC spans 22 years. He’s has held many roles, most of them in sales. For the last 10 years, Ware has been general sales manager under Jim Serra, who recently announced he would retire on June 30.
Ware holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications from University of Louisiana-Lafayette.
