JonBenet Ramsey’s Brother Sues CBS

In the lawsuit for $750 million filed Wednesday, Burke Ramsey claims that the network, its production company and the experts interviewed in a six-part series on the unsolved murder permanently ruined his reputation.

DENVER (AP) — The older brother of JonBenet Ramsey is suing CBS and others for $750 million over a series that concluded he killed his sister.

In the lawsuit filed Wednesday, Burke Ramsey claims that the network, its production company and the experts interviewed in the series on the unsolved murder permanently ruined his reputation. The six-part series aired in September ahead of the 20th anniversary of JonBenet’s death.

The 6-year-old was found dead in the basement of her family’s home in Boulder, Colorado, the day after Christmas in 1996.

CBS spokesman Dustin Smith declined to comment on the lawsuit.

Ramsey also previously filed a lawsuit against a forensic pathologist who said Burke Ramsey bludgeoned his sister to death. He is also named in the latest lawsuit, which was filed in Michigan, where Burke Ramsey lives.

Hope he gets every penny…. CBS out right implied he was the murder with their “trial by media” story … I would be happy to serve on the jury and award $200 million!

As the jury should watch the entire show, which I wonder if you did, the evidence was meticulously laid out. It would be very hard for the jury to look at the evidence put forth and not “convict” him, though the standard to convict is much lower in civil v criminal trial. Witness OJ trial. If the jury looks at the entire program they should award him nothing and that will be his conviction.

No chance for that – juries are supposed to be made up of people who have not already decided a case before the trial and presentation of the evidence, on both sides.

His guilt is like manmade climate change. Everyone knows it, so there’s no need to prove it.

I’m glad he’s suing. He won’t get a dime unless CBS settles (and I suspect this is what he’s hoping for). But it will most likely open up and, hopefully, resolve a cold case that should have been easily solved the first time around had a competent police force investigated it. Those of us who have looked at the evidence long suspected that JonBenet’s brother killed her. The lure of big money has obviously motivated this fool to sue. However, it just might put him on the slippery slope to a conviction.
