Josh Young Named VP-GM Of KWES

Josh Young today was named vice president and general manager of Raycom Media’s NBC affiliate KWES Midland-Odessa, Texas (DMA 145). He will also oversee Raycom’s  KTXC-FM there.

Young spent the last 16 years at KCBD Lubbock, Texas, the last 11 years as director of marketing.  Young served on the Raycom Media Marketing Advisory Board for several years, and he was a member of an advisory group that was instrumental in incorporating several new stations in Texas and Oklahoma into the company following their purchase last year from Drewry Communications.

“Josh proved himself to be a leader during his tenure at KCBD,” said Brad Streit, Raycom Media Group Vice President. “What makes Josh’s appointment to General Manager particularly fitting is his background with all the Texoma stations, especially KWES. That makes him uniquely qualified to take on this new position.”

Young is a native Texan.  He attended Texas Tech University; graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in advertising and a minor in Marketing.
