Judson Beck Named GM Of WLAX La Crosse

The executive with more than 25 Years of broadcasting and digital experience is chosen by Nexstar to lead its Wisconsin Fox affiliate associated digital broadcast, Web and mobile services.

Nexstar Broadcasting Group today appointed Judson “Jud” Beck vice president and general manager of Fox affiliate WLAX La Crosse, Wis. (DMA 128) and its satellite WEUX Chippewa Falls, as well as the stations’ associated digital broadcast, Web and mobile services under www.WIProud.com.

The appointment is effective immediately and Beck will report to Bill Sally, Nexstar SVP-regional manager.

Prior to joining Nexstar, Beck was midwest director and general sales manager of Living Social, a digital company that provides user accessibility and purchasing opportunities for a broad range of local entertainment offerings.

Prior to Living Social, Beck served in various broadcast management roles in the Chicago television market, including VP-director of sales for WGBO and WXFT, and VP-general sales manager of WFLD and WPWR.

Prior to that, he was a sales manager for both the Fox and CBS television station groups where he launched Fox’s Chicago-based national sales operation.

Beck began his broadcasting career in local radio sales in 1987.

BRAND CONNECTIONS

Beck is a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University, receiving his Bachelor of Arts in mass communications. He has served in the United States Navy as a Signalman and Petty Officer, with a tour of duty in Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm, receiving an honorable discharge in 1991.
