JVC Launches VideoCloud Live Streaming Platform

JVC Professional Video today announced JVC VideoCloud, an online video and live streaming platform designed for small and medium-size enterprises, such as houses of worship, wedding videographers and schools.

Complete with a content management system and customization tools, JVC VideoCloud provides both private and public reliable viewer experiences. JVC will demonstrate the new service during the NAB Show New York (Booth 1515), which runs Nov. 9-10 at the Javits Convention Center.

JVC VideoCloud is designed to complement JVC’s PTZ cameras and professional camcorders with built-in HD streaming and RTMP support. After a user establishes an online account with JVC, events can be set up in advance with custom web pages hosted on the cloud or as streams embedded on the customer’s website. With individual event credentials stored in the camera, a single button press on the camera will initiate the live stream.

Open access is available for worship services, local government meetings and broadcasters, while passwords can be assigned for specific events such as lectures, corporate presentations, and webinars. There is no limit to the number of viewers, so programs can be streamed as a private event for one or a public event for a worldwide audience.

JVC VideoCloud delivers content through the backbone of the Akamai content delivery network (CDN), a global leader in CDN services. Its content management system automatically navigates the user to the nearest network entry point, so live events and video uploads are not disrupted by latency or packet loss. The company says viewers “get a smooth viewing experience with instant loading times and minimal buffering.”

For a customized viewer experience, JVC VideoCloud includes multiple skins for video players that can be embedded within a website. Logos and graphics can also be added for branding. Users can also use JVC VideoCloud to create a website that can be hosted on a separate domain.

There are no external ads or other online distractions with JVC VideoCloud. You control the content, you control the access, and you can even customize the viewing experience. It’s an affordable viewing platform for churches, wedding videographers, schools and others.”

With a browser-based integrated content management system, JVC VideoCloud allows users can easily manage assets from a PC, Mac or mobile device. Content can also be monetized with the built-in paywall functionality. Users can insert commercials or sell live and video-on-demand content via subscription or PPV plans.

JVC VideoCloud also delivers detailed analytics about viewing behaviors, including average time spent (ATS), regional split, referring websites, browser and device usage, and more. Plus, JVC VideoCloud can connect with Google Analytics for additional analysis.

At $99 per month, the JVC VideoCloud Premium pricing plan includes 1,000 viewer hours (100 GB) and unlimited live channels. At $49 per month, the Plus plan provides 200 viewer hours (20 GB), and unlimited live channels. JVC also offers a free option with one live channel and 50 viewer hours (5 GB).
