K. Dane Snowden, Joining NCTA As Chief Of Staff

The National Cable & Telecommunications Association (NCTA) today announced that K. Dane Snowden, formerly chief of the FCC Consumer and Government Affairs Bureau and currently VP for external and state affairs for CTIA–The Wireless Association, will join NCTA in the new role of chief of staff, working closely with NCTA President-CEO Michael Powell and Executive Vice President James Assey to oversee the association’s day-to-day operations as well as its planning and strategic initiatives.

Snowden assumes his position at NCTA on Aug. 22.

Snowden joined CTIA in 2005, and he has managed and directed its state policy and liaison efforts. Prior to that, Snowden was chief of the FCC Consumer and Government Affairs Bureau where he was responsible for development and execution of the vision, strategic direction, telecommunications policy and management of the bureau’s activities and 300 employees.

Before joining the FCC in 2001, Snowden was VP for business development and strategic alliances at MissionFish.com; VP for corporate, nonprofit and faith commitments at America’s Promise–The Alliance for Youth; and corporate development director for the United Negro College Fund.

Snowden is a graduate of The College of William and Mary.
