KAB Elects Chairman And New Board

Larry Riggins, Alpha Media Topeka market manager, has been elected chairman of the Kansas Association of Broadcasters board of directors for 2018.

The vote came during the annual meeting at the KAB Convention in Manhattan.

Riggins has served on the board since 2014 and was previously chair-elect and secretary-treasurer.

Mike Cukyne, GM of KCTV-TV/KSMO-TV Kansas City, was approved as 2018 chair elect.

Riggins is a longtime Kansas broadcaster working for radio at stations in Fairbury, Nebraska, Salina and Topeka, where he has been since 2005.

Five new board of directors were also elected at the meeting. They are:

  • John Hoffman — KSNF-TV/KODE-TV Joplin
  • John Leonard — KGGF-AM-FM, KUSN-FM, KQQF-FM Coffeyville
  • Scott Olesky —Eagle Radio, Manhattan
  • Deb Oyler — High Plains Public Radio, Garden City
  • Barbara White — White Communications, Russell

Also re-elected for a three-year term was Brad Moses of KWCH-TV Wichita.
