A 3pm newscast in traffic plagued L.A.? Really? Another rather transparent attempt to save money on syndicated content, and amortize news costs across yet another hour of the day…

Like I keep on saying, the time will come when a network O&O station OR a network affiliate will scrap all syndicated programming and run local news in all non-network time slots. I think it will happen within the next 5 years or so.

Is it a watch-it-when-you-want mentality? If that’s the case, just tape the shows for playback laterit (you can do that now), and play it back… Channel 7 can tape the 4 o’clock and play it back at 6.. tape the 5 and play it back at 7… Saves money on talent,…. saves money on story count….. saves money on reporters, photogs…. saves money on time lost…. NOTE: the key words are ‘saves money.’ Whoa… I just saved ABC-Glendale a boatload of cash in the PM. Think of what we could save from 9 AM to 11 AM………………..
