Katie George To Join WDRB News Team

Block Communications-owned Fox affiliate WDRB Louisville, Ky. (DMA 49), has hired Katie George, the reigning Miss Kentucky USA and one of college volleyball’s most outstanding players, as the newest member of its news and sports team.

George is a Louisville native who just completed her standout volleyball career at the University of Louisville as ACC Player and Setter of the Year. During her time at U of L, she was also named to the ACC All-Academic squad.

The communications major previously served as an intern for CBS Sports Network in New York.

“I’m pleased to have Katie join our team of journalists at WDRB,” said WDRB News Director Barry Fulmer. “Katie will contribute to both news and our sports coverage on our station.  And as a Louisville native, she’ll be able to use her talents to provide great local coverage on all of our newscasts.”

George will begin her duties at WDRB on Jan. 11, 2016.
