KCHF Adds WeatherNation In New Mexico

WeatherNation TV announced today an agreement with Son Broadcasting Network to deliver local weather news in Albuquerque for Son’s KCHF’s digital tier. WeatherNation can be now be seen in high definition in Albuquerque and Santa Fe on ch. 11.2.

WeatherNation TV is an all-weather news format, delivering continuous live coverage of current weather events. An all-meteorologist staff uses the technologies including VIPIR Systems from Baron Services and HD Fusion from Weather Central for forecasting and illustrating current conditions with 3D graphical mapping to help viewers understand the in-depth story behind the weather. Its severe weather tracking system also lets WeatherNation meteorologists zoom down to town, neighborhood or even street level.

Annette Garcia, president of Son Broadcasting, said: “We are thankful to offer more than 600,000 homes in New Mexico important weather news from WeatherNation on ch. 11.2, providing important severe local weather coverage as well as national weather news.”

For broadcasters, WeatherNation contains no paid programming, is E/I compliant, is closed captioned and supports EAS. WeatherNation also integrates with a TV station’s existing traffic and billing system for supporting ad insertion without the need for additional hardware.
