KCRG Cedar Rapids To Launch Antenna TV
The Gazette Co.-owned ABC affiliate KCRG Cedar Rapids, Iowa (DMA 90), is launching the classic TV diginet Antenna TV on Jan. 19, 2015, on its ch. 9.3 subchannel. It will be available free over the air or via cable throughout Eastern Iowa, including Mediacom ch. 110 and ImOn ch. 710.
“We’re excited for the opportunity to provide classic television shows on KCRG 9.3,” said Kevin Schrader, KCRG’s director of broadcast distribution and operations. “KCRG 9.3 will offer a variety of programming options that will provide entertainment for the whole family.”
Antenna TV programming includes The Three Stooges, I Dream of Jeannie, Dennis the Menace, Newhart, Leave it to Beaver, WKRP in Cincinnati, Mr. Belvedere, Barney Miller, Bewitched, All in the Family, Doogie Howser,M.D., The Patty Duke Show, Mister Ed, Green Acres, Good Times, Three’s Company, The Jack Benny Program and more. Omaha stations and their owners who apparently don’t like diginets much. In a number of markets, the stations are the problem. Boston is the biggest market (#7) without Antenna TV.
