The Ellis Communications-owned Los Angeles independent will air an hour-long 8 p.m. newscast from ABC O&O KABC starting in January. It will also rebroadcast KABC’s 11 p.m. news at midnight.
KDOC To Air KABC-Produced Newscast
Beginning in January, ABC O&O KABC Los Angeles will produce a live, one-hour newscast that will air on independent KDOC seven days a week at 8 p.m.
“As the news leader in Southern California, ABC7 Eyewitness News is glad to have an additional opportunity to provide viewers the news and weather information they need,” said KABC President-GM Arnold J. Kleiner.
KDOC President-GM John Manzi said: “One of our goals at LA56 has always been to air a primetime newscast; and, now, we have a partnership with the No. 1 news station in the L.A. market. We could not be more excited to work with ABC7.”
In addition, KDOC will also re-broadcast KABC’s Eyewitness News at 11 p.m., seven days a week at midnight starting in January.
KDOC is the flagship station of Ellis Communications and is managed by Titan Broadcast Management.
