Keith Russell Joins WRC Washington News

Keith Russell will be joining NBC-owned WRC Washington (DMA 8) on Aug. 1. He will be co-anchoring News4 Midday with Barbara Harrison and contributing to the station’s evening newscasts.

Russell comes to Washington from WPVI Philadelphia where he was the primary sports anchor and hosted sports-themed shows since 2005, including a top-rated live weekly high school football show. Russell also anchored wall to wall coverage of live events such as the Philadelphia Phillies’ World Series Championship in 2008.

Prior to WPVI, Russell spent more than five years as an anchor at ESPN. After covering sports for so many years, he says he is looking forward to moving to harder news.
