Kelly Huffman Named VP, News Director At Fox’s Minneapolis Duopoly

Huffman's promotion from assistant news director to VP and news director is effective immediately. He has been with the duopoly since July 2002.

Kelly Huffman has been promoted to VP and news director of the Fox-owned duopoly in Minneapolis, comprised of KMSP FOX 9 and WFTC FOX 9+, Marian Davey, the station’s SVP and GM, said Monday. Effective immediately, he will oversee all editorial, business and administrative functions for KMSP and WFTC News, reporting directly to Davey. 

In making the announcement, Davey stated, “Kelly has been a newsroom leader for almost 20 years. His passion for multi-platform journalism and dedication to creating news and programming makes him the natural choice for this role.” 

Huffman has been with the Fox-owned duopoly in Minneapolis since July of 2002. Most recently, he has served as the assistant news director since November 2013. Prior to that, Huffman held the roles of managing editor and senior assignment editor for the duopoly. Before this, he began his career in broadcasting at WCCO-TV in Minneapolis.  

Huffman added, “I’m honored to lead this talented and dedicated team at a time where quality local journalism has perhaps never mattered more.”
