DMA 96: SOUTH BEND, IN

Ken Garcia Back At WSJV As Morning Co-Anchor

Ken Garcia, a former meteorologist and reporter at WSJV South Bend, Ind. (DMA 96), is rejoining the station as Fox28 Morning News co-anchor.

Garcia will join Co-Anchor Allison Preston and meteorologist Joe Hansel on the broadcast beginning March 14.

The announcement was made by WSJV GM Merry Ewing. “The opportunity to bring back someone so well thought of by our audience and our team seemed too good to be true,” Ewing said. “Ken is smart, cares about the people we serve and will work hard to make sure we continue to deliver the best morning news broadcast in Michiana.”

A native of Florida, Garcia studied radio and TV news at the University of Florida and meteorology at Mississippi State University. He has been in journalism and communications for over a decade. Garcia joined WSJV in 2007 as a reporter and weekend weatherman, and then became the morning meteorologist. He left to join the Red Cross in Oklahoma as regional communications and marketing manager.

The Fox28 Morning News airs weekdays from 6 to 9 a.m.
