Ken Hershman Named HBO Sports President

The replacement for Ross Greenburg joins from pay TV rival Showtime, where he has been EVP-GM of sports and events programming since 2003.

NEW YORK (AP) – Ken Hershman will be the new president of HBO Sports.

Hershman comes from Showtime, where he was the executive vice president and general manager for sports and event programming since October 2003.

HBO said Thursday that Hershman would start in January.

He replaces Ross Greenburg, who stepped down in July after more than a decade leading HBO Sports.

HBO Programming President Michael Lombardo says Hershman “has a deep and thorough understanding of the sport of boxing and that background will be invaluable.”
