KENS Adds Mat Garcia As Morning Anchor
Belo-owned CBS affiliate KENS San Antonio, Texas (DMA 36), has hired Mat Garcia for its KENS 5 Eyewitness News This Morning. Garcia will replace veteran anchor Fred Lozano, who is retiring after more than 30 years on the air in San Antonio.
Garcia has extensive experience as a broadcast journalist, and has anchored morning and evening newscasts at stations from Texas to New York City.
Before joining KENS, Garcia was primary morning anchor for more than three years at KOCO Oklahoma City.
He is a native of Austin and graduated from the University of Texas.
