KENS Slots New 4:30 A.M. Newscast

KENS, Belo’s CBS affiliate in San Antonio, Texas (DMA 37) will roll out a new, expanded morning newscast beginning Monday, Jan. 10, 2011. Instead of starting at 5 a.m., Eyewitness News This Morning will start a half hour earlier, at 4:30.

Veteran KENS morning newscasters Fred Lozano and Vicki Buffolino will anchor the extended coverage. They will be joined by meteorologist Paul Mireles and Natalie Tejeda with traffic.

“We know that people are working longer hours and getting up much earlier these days,” said KENS President-GM Bob McGann. “This means that morning news is more important than ever to our viewers and we’re very proud to be the only station in San Antonio that’s ready to meet the demand for early morning news at 4:30 a.m.”
