KETV Taps Devlin Design Group For Historic Project

Hearst Television’s ABC affiliate KETV Omaha, Neb. (DMA 74), has selected Devlin Design Group to design and create the news set for their new broadcast facility to be located in the city’s historic Burlington train station building.

KETV announced the purchase of the iconic train station over a year ago. It will relocate its entire operation there later this year. From the beginning, KETV wanted a set design firm that would provide a visual presentation that included state-of-the-art digital storytelling technology, increased production values and incorporation of visual references to the historical nature of the building.

“KETV’s move to Burlington Station is a bold commitment to our viewers, the community, and to downtown Omaha,” Ariel Roblin, KETV president-GM, said. “The on-air centerpiece of our new television station will be designed by Devlin Design Group.

“Team DDG’s attention to detail, collaborative expertise and the versatility of their stunning design made our decision clear,” Roblin added. “From the first visit on site the team demonstrated a cohesive passion to deliver on our all our goals and we had several. First, to create a beautiful, state of the art  set that enhances the viewers’ experience and the way we tell Omaha’s stories. Equally important was to incorporate a nod to the Burlington Train Station, honoring its historical impact on Omaha.”

“When we were first contacted about the Burlington Station project, I was confident that DDG had the right team for this historic event,” said Dan  Devlin,  Chief  Creative  Strategist, Devlin Design Group.  “We met with KETV, toured this grand old building, and we dug deep into what they were looking to accomplish. We came back to them with a design that really nailed the spirit of the station and the project. We understand how important this project is to KETV and the community it serves. Team DDG is glad to do our part in restoring this timeless Omaha treasure.”
