KGO Names New Creative Services VP

The ABC O&O brings in Candace Hirleman Archer from co-owned KABC Los Angeles and also promotes Paula Marcheschi to creative services manager.

Candace Hirleman Archer has been appointed to the newly created position of vice president of creative services at ABC O&O KGO San Francisco (DMA 6). Archer most recently was news promotion manager at co-owned KABC Los Angeles.

In addition, Paula Marcheschi, a promotion producer, writer, and editor within KGO’s creative services department, has been promoted to creative services manager.

Prior to about two years as news promotion manager at KABC, Archer was marketing director of KGMB, KHNL and KFVE in 2009-10 when three Honolulu stations joined to launch their “Hawaii Now” news product. Earlier, she was marketing and creative services director at KGMB Honolulu, from 2006 to 2009.

She has also been a promotion writer, producer and editor at KRON San Francisco and an associate producer with the Tribune Creative Services Group in Atlanta.

Archer began her career at KTXL San Francisco as a newsroom assignment editor and production assistant. She is a graduate of California State University at Sacramento, with Bachelor of Arts degrees in broadcast communications and government/journalism.

Marcheschi has held various positions with KGO over the past two decades including promotion producer, writer and editor for creative services since 2005; freelance media manager from 1999 to 2005; and promotion producer and editor for creative services from 1993 to 1999.

BRAND CONNECTIONS

She joined KGO in 1991 as a production assistant and intern in the programming department. Marcheschi is a graduate of the University of San Diego with a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications.
