KING Ups Rose To Station Mgr., Xydis To Sales Dir.

Gannett NBC affiliate KING Seattle (DMA 13) has promoted Jim Rose to VP-station manager.  The promotion takes place in a restructure of leadership that includes the promotion of Jason Xydis to director of sales, succeeding Rose.
Rose will continue to report to Ray Heacox, the station’s general manager, and will assume responsibilities for sales, local programming, syndicated programming, operations and human resources. news, marketing, community, communications and digital will continue to report directly to Heacox.

Rose arrived at KING Broadcasting in 2000. Prior to his current role, Jim held the positions of local sales manager and national sales manager for KING and co-owned KONG.

Previously, Rose worked as an account executive for the Chris-Craft ABC affiliate in Salt Lake City and as research manager for Blair TV in New York. He started his career in New York City with Capital Cities as promotion coordinator with WPLJ-FM.

Rose graduated summa cum laude from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a degree in communications media.

Jason joined the KING 5 Sales Department began in 1998 in an entry-level position as a national sales coordinator.  He held the position for two years, before a promotion to account executive in KING’s newly-formed interactive sales division.  In that role he was recognized as the top billing account executive in company’s Interactive Western Region.

He became Local Sales Manager for KING-KONG in 2011 and was promoted again in 2013 to director of local sales.
