KMSP Set To Debut ‘Enough Said’ News Show

Fox-owned KMSP Minneapolis (DMA 15) will debut Enough Said on Friday, April 17, at 9:30 p.m., hosted by local personalities Dan Barreiro (KFAN-FM’s Bumper to Bumper) and Ron Rosenbaum (Holding Court podcast).

The weekly 30-minute news program will feature Barreiro’s and Rosenbaum’s takes on the local and national headlines of the week, ranging from politics and sports, to pop culture. KMSP Executive Producer Lori Fisher will be an on-air contributor.

In making the announcement, KMSP GM Sheila Oliver said: “We are always innovating and looking for fresh programming alternatives.  Dan and Ron bring their edgy slant to the issues we are all talking about in Enough Said. We are excited to bring this energy to our Friday night lineup.”

Barreiro said: “To have the opportunity to branch out a little bit, with a TV station I’ve worked with and enjoyed before, is terrific. To have the chance to work with Ron on the same show, after all these years together on the radio, just adds to the fun for me, and I hope, the audience. We may infuriate you from time to time, but we hope we are never boring or routine. We’re going to take our best shot.”

“Dan Barreiro and I have worked together for years on radio analyzing topics ranging from legal to sports and everything in between,” said Ron Rosenbaum. “And while substance is important, it’s often (if not usually) the case that as two somewhat cynical former journalists, the irony and humor of the stories we cover often comes through. And we’re excited to bring the same approach to the stories and issues on Enough Said.”

I have been watching Enough said for some time and have been becoming more and more disappointed. The show has gone from Dan and Ron reporting a topic pointing out both sides of an issue, to them not doing their research on a topic and interjecting their misinformed opinion. I worked in Law for almost 30 years and did extensive research on every issue that was presented to me and I worked with facts only. I watched Dan and Ron on 9-9-17 and they really missed the mark. There were three specifically three topics that I was embarrassed for Dan and Ron because they totally missed the issue which made them look quite unprofessional. The issues were as follows
1> DACA, Dan and Ron immediately jumped on the story line of how terrible President Trump is for rescinding DACA. The story line fell on these poor Dreamers who are “Victims” and President Trump is going to go after them with a mass round up and deport them all. Here is where Dan and Ron could have done a better job at presenting the whole store so that all of their viewers are informed with the facts and not misguided opinions. By his own admitting on over 20 occasions President Obama admitted that DACA was not legal and only a temperary fix to a growing problem and he even said that he wanted Congress to take DACA and address the issue and bring back a plan that could be made into a law. Congress failed. Dan and Ron missed the real issue. President Trump does not believe that the Dreamers should be deported but wants Congress to do there job and bring him a package to address the issue once and for all. Ron and Dan attacked President Trump calling him a bad president but in fact they should be focusing in on congress because this is where the blame lies…
2 –Dan and Ron were very mis-informed on football player/ Los Vegas police issue. If they had done research they would have seen that the Metro Vegas Police Chief gave a 25 minute briefing showing about 5 minutes of body camera footage. Witnesses pointed to the football player as the person they thought was responsible for the loud noise that was thought to be gunshots. When approached by the police the football player got up from a crouched position and took off running. The officers took chase and you can hear them on the body cams yelling repeatedly for him to stop. He then jumped off of a 10 foot balcony and was finally taken down by a Hispanic officer. Dan and Ron could have explained that on the other hand Police are responding to a very chaotic situation and very dangerous situation where every one else is running out. Theyinstead are running in to put themselves in harms way and potentially loss their own life . They made decisions in a split second with the best info that they had at the time.
3– The Cold Spring MN story about the Flags. Ron and Dan completely missed the issue again interjection their own opinion about what flag is appropriate or not. This was not at all about what is a appropriate flag to fly it was about the students constitutional right to free speech and how a bunch of high school students showed the entire country how to protest that violation of their right to free speech with out one fowl word of anger and absolutely no violence. Dan and Ron could have praised these student for this peaceful and successful protest and explained that we as US citezens can leagally fly any flag we want to including confederate flags or NAZI flags. How ever this may not be a good idea, but the rule of law and the constitution gives us that right and no local public organization, especially a public school can say otherwise.
Dan and Ron, on this episode I think you swung way to far left instead of keeping it in the middle of the road and allowing your viewers to be presented facts and make their of decisions on your topics. You guys weather you want to believe it or not are unofficial leaders in the Minnesota community. By leading by a professional example and doing a better job on researching the facts of the topics you present you will be much more respected by your viewers and be seen as much more credible. I will continue to watch for a few more episodes but if the show continues to slide, I will stop watching. Sorry for the run on sentences and grammatical errors but I am writing this on the run and about to catch a flight.
