KNBC Hires Multimedia Reporter Hetty Chang

NBC-owned KNBC Los Angeles (DMA 2) announced today that Hetty Chang will join the station as a multimedia reporter covering the Los Angeles South Bay. Chang will report regularly on stories originating from Long Beach, Torrance, Inglewood, Palos Verdes; and Manhattan, Hermosa and Redondo Beaches on the station’s 5 and 6 p.m. newscasts beginning in February.

Chang was the first digital media fellow recipient through a pilot program between KNBC and the Asian American Journalists Association in 2011. Under the fellowship, she worked with the station’s digital media team.

Prior to KNBC, Chang had been a reporter at KSNV Las Vegas since 2007. Before KSNV, she was a reporter and fill-in anchor at KRNV Reno, Nev.

Chang began her news career as a reporter/producer for L.A. Cityview, a weekly news program on ch. 35 in Los Angeles. Chang is a member of the Asian American Journalists Association and is a graduate of UCLA.
